Liaisons
Datuk May Phng
I am a businesswoman and currently my company owns the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf franchise in Shanghai. Having met Rinpoche, I know that I have found my Root Guru and the purpose of my life. I am privileged to have found my Guru after searching for 20 years and am honoured to be a Liaison to Rinpoche, to spread the Dharma, and to bring benefits and happiness to all
Dato’ Ruby Khong
Over the last 14 years, I have been fortunate enough to receive and practice the Dharma under the care of a teacher carrying the unbroken lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa. As the President of Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), I am reminded of why, as a Liaison, I give the best I can to my Lama and the Dharma, because I have committed the rest of my life to benefitting others
Henry Ooi
I have been a liaison to H.E. since 2005 and a student of H.E. for over ten years, learning Buddhism and practicing Dharma. I have received many Dharma teachings, gifts, moral, emotional and financial support from H.E. over the years and am still receiving the same now. All these led me to commit as a liaison to further my Dharma practice, and to assist to benefit more people
JP Thong
In 2007, the Liaisons Council invited me to become Head Liaison of Tsem Ladrang, the residence and private office of H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. I remember during a leadership programme I participated in eight years ago, I declared, “I want a spectacular life!!!” I did not know exactly how that would look like. But now I do: I want to be of benefit to others always
Phng Li Kim
Born as a Buddhist/Taoist, spirituality was merely a concept applicable to wonderful and peaceful people, not me. Since being introduced to Kechara in early 2009 by my mother, Datuk May Phng, I was honoured to be elected to the liaisons council in December 2009. I see this as a challenge to grow and be a stronger and better person, fulfilling our efforts to benefit many
Paul Yap
As one of the “pioneers” in Malaysia who work full time for Dharma, I face the same challenges as the other Liaisons. We must continually strive to gain extra Dharma skills and knowledge to enhance and improve the organisation and ourselves, so the Kechara organisation will flourish and benefit others locally and worldwide
Loh
I met Rinpoche in Singapore back in 2001. It was a very refreshing experience because I never knew Buddhism and Dharma could be so unconventional yet maintain its essence. Being Rinpoche’s personal attendant means that I am able to witness real Dharma in action, both on and off the throne – Rinpoche is really an accomplished Dharma practitioner who is not bound by any conventions
Ooi Beng Kooi
Before meeting Rinpoche, life was good. I had a good job, great friends and no problems. I was a young Malaysian living it up in UK and travelling around Europe – the future was an open book. I had the great honour to be invited to join the Liaison Council in late 2007. I have experienced, and learned so much since then that I will be forever grateful for the time I have serving my Lama
Chuah Su Ming
After completing my studies in UK, I returned to Malaysia and worked for Bacardi-Martini Malaysia. It was a glamorous job with many travel opportunities. After joining Rinpoche and the Kechara organisation, my experiences in Dharma always make me want to focus on benefitting others and NOT think of myself. At the beginning I liked Rinpoche’s vision but now, I want to be part of it
