A Dharma Princess

Liaison Jamie Khoo

I first meet Rinpoche at a time when I am at my most glamourous – about to start a high profile job, holidaying in and out of beautiful cities and spending more time styling my wardrobe than being remotely bothered with the pains of the rest of the mortal world. I agree to meet Rinpoche because fabulous Ming Chan (who I adored for her prominence in making fashion catwalks what they are) had proposed a freelance job for me, working with her “hunky Guru.”

A Pilgrimage That Changed My Life

Liaison Ruby Khong

A monk once told me that, "The day when the Tiger and Rabbit met, that's when your life will change..."

My newly ventured business had plummeted because of my wrong doings. I suffered financially and emotionally – boy, did I deserve it!

One day, I received a call from my cousin: “Hey, you’re invited to my husband’s birthday party on Chap Goh Meh (last day of the Chinese New Year). After dinner there’ll be a short Dharma talk by Rinpoche. Please bring along your friends,” she told me...

Living With Dharma In London

Kelly Glynn

Malaysia. The trip of a lifetime? For me, it turned out to be undoubtedly so. Not because of Malaysia’s scenery, its beaches, cheap clothing, food and alcohol. My other friends who were travelling at the same time were going there for that. I however flew to Malaysia for my brother’s (Justin Ripley - not blood related) wedding and to meet up with the Ripley family of which I have felt always to be an extended family member. For me, the trip to Malaysia was to change my life unexpectedly so. I received an introduction to Buddhism and its dedicated followers (Kechara House) along with seeing and listening to the very presence of Tsem Tulku Rinpoche on two occasions. Awed by him, yes, but inspired more so.
