Merit-Making on Qing Ming
Come and join us on 27 March 2010 from 3pm to 5pm for our English Setrap puja...The pujas will generate blessings and merit for the protection and clearance of obstacles for our loved ones...so grab the chance to propitiate Setrap directly at our chapel!
I waz there

Came in as a visitor and observer...had many interesting experiences...
Some observances...
1. Met a smiley and courteous reception lady, a Ms May Ong, where I registered and sponsored something for the 'wishing tree' and later she checked with me on how I was doing and gave me her Kechara business/contact card. (Perhaps, the only person there who ever noticed my existence, besides another unknown lady at the reception table who suddenly greeted me

)
2. No one came and gave me any prayer book to follow through (my own fault for not being nosey and pokey enough to look for it) but its ok cos' I am just there to look and see and managed to follow through some familiar mantras or verses known to myself through online sources and practice.
3. House rules on attire...I thought that it was to be enforced strictly as per the website yet spotted some guys in shorts, 3/4s pants, one even had his head cap on for the puja!

At least, no cell phones rang during the puja lol...
What intrigued me as well was the leader of the puja, can't recall her name though, was attired quite 'casually', as I always had the impression that they must be covered thoroughly for modesty and respect for the shrine decorum but hey what do I know...different strokes for different folks
She was cool, as the leader of the puja, recitation and leading wise...
4. Had some 'other worldly' experiences there but I guess best kept to my own personal journal...
Would I visit again? Yup, but of course, when causes and conditions are right...as usual
