 Cry
The world is a dark dream right now where masses of people peer pressure each other into limited views. Yeah, people have a lot of sense stimulation, things seem happy sometimes, but they have no insight, just below the thin veneer of their cozy dream is a very scary situation of perpetual wandering.

The Noble Sangha is almost completely gone. We can try to carry on the practices, we can try to keep it all together but there's no respect for truth anymore. And lets face it, no one's even trying anymore.

Well now, isn't that an interesting view? I'm curious about how you've come to such a conclusion, would you be so kind as to share?

What I see is a beautiful world full of aspiring Buddhas and very kind people. I've been around quite a bit and mostly I see good people being kind to one another, most are quite generous, and all are loving. Now, I know that the news media has hired some pretty depressed folks to sort through the unusual happenings in the world to put on their shows and try to convince everyone that the world is going to hell in a hand-basket, but I sure don't see  much of that going on. I've never seen a murder, don't personally know anyone who has killed anyone recently (except perhaps a couple soldiers just back from war) haven't been in a fight in years, nor even in a heated argument. Rarely has anyone yelled in a threatening way near me in the last several years, even though I have been in rough neighborhoods. One might say, "Good on you, dude." but it isn't just me, a lot of folks I know have reported the same observations.

I suggest one stay away from the media, or at least strive to keep equanimity while partaking (in very small doses) what these unfortunate ignorant media people have to report. Just imagine their daily lives - going through all the unusual garbage of the day just to try to hook the attention and build the fear of the average watcher. May they develop wisdom and attain peace of mind and in this way, stop the spread of ignorance through dissemination of the darkest ignorance's perpetrated in the world. There is 10% unemployment, but thankfully, 90% of the population have jobs! 10% of the world is on war footing, but 90% is on peace footing. (Okay, maybe 25% ready for war and 75% ready for peace, still....)

So, again I ask, (meant in a very helpful, non-attacking way) why have you chosen to see what you see?

Kaivalyananda, you'll be happy to hear that I don't watch the news or tv regularly since around year 2000.

This place can be very pretty, by no way the best, but an excellent place to be if you're going to stay in samsara.

I'm just feeling a little hopeless in terms of helping other people to significant liberation, I feel like retreating and liberating myself. Every so often this happens and I start anticipating death as vows loosen the ties of my life, reducing the world to a dream. I haven't felt like this for a long time, should be great if it lasts. Loosening the strings will rocket me to more accomplishments and freedom. I'm so grateful to so many things lol (gets teary eyed).

Anywho,.. I guess I'll be focusing on myself for a while, that's ok though, even now, though it's kinda sad and internally I feel somethings slipping apart, I have more bliss than my body can handle, my body & breath are trembling, I'm cold and hot at the same time, sweating some, the winds are moving fast and mentally I'm with a field of yidams surrounded by flames lights and razors blowing through the air like leaves. I'd invite you if I could haha. I'm very light hearted right now, practically drugged by the mind, and what I write is more poetic than helpful.

That is a beautiful state to be in.  Grin

I know that all I can say is as reminders and so, toward that goal: any growth you attain is beneficial to the whole of existence. Taking the time for yourself will make your vibrations more powerful and you may become the help you wish to give. The more freedom you attain, the more freedom those you wish to help attain, for you will cease to hold them in a static position within your mind. You will see, more and more, how their situation now is just as impermanent as the weather and with that seeing, you will help them to see their own Buddha nature. So, take the time you need...and you will be helping all beings attain the same freedom you do.

Blessings to you, my friend.
