Our old labrador is having kidney failure and has only days to live.  Please say a prayer for him.  I am still searching for the recording of Rinpoche reciting Ganden Lygyama to play for him in his final days.  Please post link for it if you find it.  Thank you.

Thank you.  I took him last night to my local Dharma centre and my kind Venerable recited these prayers to him right in front of the altar.  It was a very special moment that I shant soon forget.  He especially seemed to respond to the Medicine Buddha mantra.  Today he is in good spirits and even did a little dance that he does when he's excited.  Smiley

Thanks everybody!  Jake is doing well.  Vets are scratching their heads.  Very happy for the extra time with him and he is very happy about the extra attention and about the sudden lax in the usual house rules governing doggies.  Grin

We had Jake put down this morning.  It was his time.  Please say a prayer for his good re-brith.  Thank you so much for your support and prayers for him.

I don't know the Budhist stance about putting animals out of their misery and pain.  We really had no choice as he was already beyond his limits of pain.  It wasn't fair or right anymore.  U would think letting them go this way would be easier on their family, but it's not.  Being present for that moment was heart wrenching and a memory I hope will fade from my mind very soon.  I'm so mad with myself for not being braver and saying all the prayers I wanted to say, but I kind of fell apart.  I have guilt for not being a better mummy and I want to fix it all, but I can't.  You think you will always have time to do better, but you don't.  I want someone to come and make it all better, but who can?  I do believe that death isn't final, but it sure as hell feels it.

Jake's Dharma name was Tsongkhapa and I played Rinpoche's Mig-tse-ma to him in his final days.  It's Lama Tsongkhapa day at my Dharma centre, but I didn't know this til after Jake had passed.  I believe his passing on this day is auspicious for him and that his name sake is with him, guiding and blessing him.

I love you Jarcob Tsongkapha and I'm so so sorry.

Bless him  Cry     I will add him to my practice, i saw a bit of the Tsongkapha thing at Kechara' new gompa on the live streaming on facebook. Rinpoche stated (if i understood correctly) that prayers for beings have more effect today as its Tsongkapha day so i will pray for Jake today and for 49 days to take a good rebirth.
