Incident= a spider scurries across my study desk.  
Initial reaction= freak out.  
5 seconds later reaction= start saying mantras over spider.
Immediate result=spider suddenly stops scurrying whilst I am saying mantras over it.
Ultimate result= ?  (something good!)

Observation= this strange change in practice upon seeing scary spider is attributed to the kind blessings and teachings of the gurus and most recently, a 1 minute youtube video of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and a lucky fly.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkZDAVI2gxY
