For the first time, this round, I am on the path.
My feet are firm, my direction is set and my destiny lies before me.
I take one step and stop.  Take another, stop again.
This is how I traverse my path.

Someone joins me.
So happy to see me.
They point the way and are gone again.
Now I am alone, or so it seems.

I stop and wonder - where is my guide?
I know I have one but I don't know who they are.
Do they know me?  Do they know where I am on the path?
At this very moment, do they see me?

Some one is beside me, someone different.
They are smiling and point the way, laughing.
What's so funny?
They are gone and I don't understand.

My path gets dark and the light I carry is an ember.
With no guide, I follow my heart.
My heart knows something but holds it close.
The rest of me is almost blind.

I am walking towards those eyes that I will know.
That reflect back to me everything I am and all there is.
Then I will have finally arrived.
At the very beginning.

"Then I will have finally arrived.
At the very beginning."

Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something.
