Hello everyone,

Yet again I have a question (please forgive me), why do I feel so strongly drawn towards H.E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche & Sogyal Rinpoche? is this something that is way out of my understanding?

I hope I haven't disrespected any one asking such a question.

lit's affinity. You might have a strong connection with these two teachers in your past life.

Your question is lovely, but it is also dangerous.

Remember the Buddha's teaching?  If you get hit in the eye by an arrow, which is the more rational?  To remove the arrow or to ask who created and shot it?

The attraction to the precious ones:  investigate it, go with it, check it out, always being a light unto yourself.  If they're real rimpoches (which is my take), there will be no harm.

Your alternative is to sit around asking questions which do little but waste time.  One has only a finite time, in this body-mind, to waste.

If you feel fear, remember:  fear is the ego's Best Friend.  When confronted by Dharma, ego has a HUGE trunk of fears to trot out.  Please, for the sake of all of us, trash them.

Love,

Trying to suppress ego is like attempting to bury your shadow and trying to run away, when you failed. All is needed is understanding the shadow is false and ignore it.All approaches culminate in wisdom[realising the TRUTH].We are the one light passing over the karmic film as it projects the movies of delights and horrors on the cosmic screen.Repent[turn around] and realise the source of light and not be facinated by the projections on the screen.

okay now...lets not dwell in emptiness for a while...you guys can stop drinking off Vajrayogini's skullcup Tongue

Also, be careful of breaking the precept of teaching dharma to those who cannot understand. Some of the posts are pretty deep and yokoshiogatame might not understand all the ego stuff.

If you are attracted to a teacher, keep asking yourself why. Is it the teaching style? is it because he is able to unlock your heart? Or that he inspires you towards spiritual practice? Or just because having a guru is the "in" thing? Or that you want a rinpoche because you'd feel special?

it's time to shine the lamp into your face and interrogate yourself. I did my share on why I was drawn to Rinpoche.

Hi hi  Wink

I do agree with Joey that not everyone can understand 'deep' topics such as 'emptiness' and 'ego'...  Huh

Some postings or questions only required straight to the point, not too high level's explanations or discussions. Too much indulging into those philosophical and highly complex stuff will throw many readers off our forum. Some members may feel that their questions will be 'too basic' to ask in our seemingly 'very high' level discussions forum.  Embarrassed

However, for those questions and postings that touch on 'high' level discussions, input from Sampa, Scott, Loafer, Crazywisdom and gang are definitely needed to keep them alive!  Grin  You all are very well-read people, so do share your knowledge but please 'take notice' of the original posting's author and the flow of the postings and 'check' if they are ready for 'higher' teachings or if some 'normal helping information' and a little teachings are enough. You guys are smart what...surely know what to say... right? Oops, I mean, 'write' Tongue

Now, I don't have much Dharma knowledge but I do remember that Buddha's Dharma is all about WISDOM AND COMPASSION  Cheesy  And, no matter how much knowledge we have, we still need to practice the basic, that is KINDNESS. Try be to kind to everyone...I know I'm trying, very hard...because it is not easy!  Grin

Ok, as for the original question, Billy, I only can comment on our very own lama H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Many people are drawn to him, some by his teachings, others by his witty approach to teaching and even some others by his good looks. In any case, I believe all because we already have AFFINITY to him from our past lives, that is why we are 'attracted' so much to learn from him.

Hi all,

for his words go straight to my heart,
for he touches sensitiv strings that start to swing,
for what was thaught understood gets a deeper meaning,
for he is making me laugh,
for he is making me cry,
for him understanding the clowns,
for I think of him in the morning,
for I think of him in the evening,
for feeling I am hopelessly in love,
for he is giving the true Dharma,
for I pray to be never without his guidance,
for he helps my motivation,
for he is my inspiration,
for he is my shelter,
for he is the precious teacher, that will help on my way towards liberation,
that is why I feel so connected.

Love Krusty
