Supplication Prayers

Even though we do not know a lot of practices, if we recite our Guru’s mantra whole-heartedly with sincerity and faith, we can obtain the qualities and attainments of Buddha Heruka, Dorje Shugden, and all the enlightened beings.

Prayer Requesting Blessings

Supplicating the Root Guru

The blessings of the Guru are paramount. It is said in many texts that the source of all attainments and happiness is the Guru. Therefore we should have great devotion and faith in our Guru, the practices we receive from him, and regularly invoke his blessings. If we do this, our practices will become more effective, we will be better able to overcome our afflictive emotions, and we will gain quicker results on our spiritual path.

A qualified Guru embodies the blessings of the lineage masters, which stem all the way back to the historical Buddha Shakyamuni. Therefore, when we invoke upon the Guru, we are not only invoking upon the spiritual master (in front of us or in our visualisation), but supplicating the entire enlightened lineage. This means we receive the direct blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni and all the enlightened masters who descend from him, through our Guru.

Here is a Prayer to Request the Blessings of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche, composed by the great mahasiddha His Eminence Drubwang Gangchen Rinpoche on November 14, 1999.

All disciples with faith are encouraged to recite this prayer and Rinpoche’s name mantra regularly, at the start of your daily practice. It is important to remember that the name mantra must be pronounced clearly, without twisting or incorrect pronunciation.
